Paving projects continue

Paving Montrose Road /Old Leeds Road, Mountain Park Drive and Overbrook Road are next up on the city's project list, according to Public Works Director Ronnie Vaughn.

Milling on Montrose Road /Old Leeds Road and Mountain Park Drive will begin Friday. Milling has already been completed on Overbrook Road, and paving will begin there on Monday.

Work on Overton Road was completed on Wednesday, and the Cahaba Road project was completed Friday.

Antietam Drive and asphalt portion of the alley off Park Lane next to Little Hardware in English Village were finished in prior weeks.

The city will also pave Montevallo Road and Country Club Road after the current projects are complete.

The work will start around 7 or 7:30 a.m. and run until 4:30 or 5 p.m. daily. One lane will be closed at a time, and emergency traffic will be able to pass the paving equipment if needed.

The paving schedule is subject to change due to weather or equipment issues, Vaughn said.
