Person of interest identified in residential burglary

Mountain Brook police reported a residential burglary in this week’s community update.

The burglary occurred on Sunday, Sept. 20 around 12:15 a.m. in the 100 block of Crestview Drive, according to police. No items have been reported missing, but a person of interest was identified in the case. The investigation is ongoing.

A car break-in was reported on Sept. 18 at 2:39 p.m. An unknown white male reportedly stole a leaf blower from a vehicle in the 300 block of Overbrook Road.

Jewelry was reported stolen from a residence in the 3500 block of Kingshill Road. Unknown suspects took the jewelry sometime between June 26 and Aug. 17, according to police.
