Pink Fire Truck visiting Mountain Brook

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Cindy the Pink Fire Truck and Guardians of the Ribbon drive across the country every year. They start at the Orange Beach Fire Department, and their next stop will be in Mountain Brook. 

As part of the Pink Heals Tour, pink trucks drive across the country to bring awareness to those who are affected by cancer. During the evening of Oct. 17, Cindy will be parked at the Grand Bohemian and local firefighter Jason McDanal and Orange Beach Fire Department firefighter Asher Michon will be available for photos and questions. 

Cindy will then move on to park in the Dande Lion parking lot on Oct. 18 from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., where the Mountain Brook Fire Department will sell its special edition Breast Cancer Awareness T-shirts for $15 to raise money for the cause. 

Continuing its journey, the pink truck will keep rolling to Homewood to visit Danielle Johnson, local breast cancer fighter, at the Hair Group Salon on 18th Street; the Mountain Brook Presbyterian Church on Brookwood Road; and then to the Overton Fire Station on Lockley Drive to meet with other local breast cancer fighters before heading out to Opelika. 

All local women who are currently fighting cancer or who have survived cancer of any kind, and any family members of those who have lost loved ones cancer, are encouraged to stop by any of the above locations to sign the truck.
