Sidewalk project delays

The city of Mountain Brook is experiencing delay in the Phase 6 sidewalk project due to pending design revisions and approvals from the Alabama Department of Transportation for the retaining walls and driveways.

Ongoing construction along Overcrest Road, Cherokee Road, Overbrook Road and Old Leeds Road will not be able to be complete until the approvals are granted. The city is waiting to start work on Shiloh Drive until the construction on the other roads is closer to completion.

“We assure you we are doing everything possible to expedite the process and reduce the time of the delays,” the city said in a release.

Construction for the project has already been completed on Green Valley Road and Knollwood Drive.
