Sidewalks to link to Homewood

The City Council approved the proposed sidewalk project along Montevallo Road and Hollywood Boulevard.

The new sidewalks will link the cities of Homewood and Mountain Brook.

State Representative Paul DeMarco spoke in favor of the project and is in full support of linking the two cities.

In linking the two cities, a safer pedestrian crosswalk will be added to the shoulder of the Hollywood Bridge, along with a traffic barrier.

The connection will also allow for pedestrians to access the Birmingham Zoo more easily.
