Six car break-ins reported since Sunday

Mountain Brook Police Department reported six car break-ins in this week’s community update.

Five break-ins occurred between July 19 and July 20, and two occurred when the car was unlocked.

In the 3800 block of Knollwood Drive, an unlocked car was entered, and the suspect or suspects stole jewelry and electronics. Another unlocked car was entered in the 3700 block of Locksley Drive, and money and an iPod were stolen.

Another break-in took place in the 3900 block of Knollwood Drive. The car’s window was broken, and credit cards, money and a purse were stolen. A car in the 3700 block of Dunbarton Drive also had a window broken and credit cards, currency and a purse were stolen.

A car in the 2900 block of Overton Road had a window broken, and items in the vehicle were moved but nothing was taken.

On July 21 at 3:34 a.m., police responded to a call about a suspect the 2200 block of English Village Lane. A resident reported seeing the suspect in her vehicle and entering a neighbor’s vehicle.

Officers found Michael Dewayne Feggins, 38, walking with a bag containing items that were taken from cars in the area. Feggins was charged with unlawful breaking and entering vehicles and theft, and bond was set at $5,600.

Police identified and arrested a suspect in the Hampton Inn robbery from July 19. The suspect, later identified as Abraham Mosley, 42, through security footage, robbed an employee of money at the Hampton Inn on U.S. 280.

He was charged with third degree robbery and third degree theft on July 20, and bond was set at $15,300.
