Speaker to share story from the whirpool

Sue Wiygul Martin will speak on "Out Of The Whirlpool—A Life Worth Living" at an Aware Town Talk on April 17 at 6 p.m. at Park Lane in English Village. An question-and-answer session will follow.

Martin grew up in Mountain Brook and has recently published Out of the Whirlpool, a deeply honest and moving account of the rebuilding of her life after a desperate, impetuous act in her youth ended in traumatic blindness. Now, after more than 30 years of an extraordinary recovery and reconciliation with the past, Martin is ready to share the simple truth of her journey.

Now in her 50s, Martin is married to Jim, her husband of 28 years.  She works in the Office of Information & Technology in the Department of Veterans Affairs.
