Student Council reps at Crestline Elementary School are planning a Team Slade event raise money for fellow student Slade Anderson.

Slade has been battling with leukemia since Nov. 20. Money raised will go to support his treatment at St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital in Memphis.

The event will take place at the 32 degrees yogurt bar in Crestline from 3-10 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 24.

Other Crestline businesses have also developed new ways to support Slade.

Sugar Inc. is now selling shirts for Team Slade. The T-shirts are green with a yellow Superman S on the front and "Team Slade" on the back. The T-shirts come in all youth and adult sizes.

All the proceeds go to help Saint Jude’s hospital and Team Slade. The T-shirts are $15 each, cash or check only and can be shipped for a fee.

Taco Mama has also joined raising money for Saint Jude’s cancer research. The restaurant has created a taco combo called “Super Slade Taco.” This combination consists of a beef and cheese taco, Slade’s favorite.

Starting Feb. 1 at Taco Mama, you can now order a “Super Slade” beef and cheese taco, Slade’s favorite. For each taco purchased, Taco Mama, $1 will be donated to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital through Feb. 1, 2014.
