Three cases of identity theft reported

Three instances of identity theft were reported since the last Mountain Brook Police Department community update.

On Nov. 22, a victim in the 10 block of Montevallo Lane reported someone used her credit card to make purchases online. The purchases were made between Oct. 20 and Oct. 21. Also on Nov. 22, another victim reported she discovered two credit cards had been opened in her name.

A victim in the 2200 block of Cahaba Road reported her credit card was used to buy things from Walmart.com between Nov. 23 and Nov. 24.

Police also reported two property thefts, including a shoplifter who took jewelry and a purse from a shop in the 40 block of Church Street. The theft occurred on Nov. 11. Two sets of skis were reported stolen from a house in the 700 block of Euclid Avenue on Nov. 24. The theft occurred between Oct. 12 and Nov. 24.

A burglary was also reported in the 2800 block of Canoe Brook Lane. Someone entered the house on Nov. 20 and stole a computer and jewelry.

A victim in the 3100 block of N Woodridge Road reported someone damaged her mailbox on Nov. 20.
