Three thefts, residential burglary reported

Three thefts and a residential burglary were reported in the last week, according to Mountain Brook Police Department.

A residential burglary set off the household’s alarm system on Aug. 7 at 9:54 a.m. Officers were dispatched to the residence in the 4200 block of Old Leeds Road. A television and computer were reported stolen from the residence.

Tools were reported stolen from a residence in the 3000 block of Westmoreland Drive. The theft occurred between Aug. 10 and 11. An unknown suspect or suspects stole a generator from a Little River Road residence’s yard between Aug. 9 and 10.

A Toyota 4Runner was stolen from the 2700 block of Culver Road between Aug. 6 and 8.

Police also reported an arrest was made in relation to a July 30 burglary. The residential burglary was in the 2900 block of Fairway Drive. Roy Demetrie Purnell Jr. and Derrick Edwin Johnson, both 19, were arrested. Warrants for first degree theft and third degree burglary were obtained for Purnell and Johnson.
