Village Living takes home eight APA awards

Village Living was the winner of eight awards at the 2015 Alabama Press Association’s Better Newspaper Contest. The annual contest celebrates the best in writing, photography, design and advertisements among newspapers across the state.

The awards were presented at the annual summer convention on June 20, at the Hilton Sandestin hotel in Florida. There were nearly 3,000 entries from 70 newspapers across Alabama. Village Living competed in Division E of the contest, the division for member newspapers with free circulation.

Among Village Living’s awards were:

• 1^st Place – Best Public Service Journalism
• 1^st Place – Best Use of Graphics/Illustration
• 1^st Place – Best One-Time Special Section
• 2^nd Place – Best Regularly-Scheduled Special Section
• 3^rd Place – Best Public Service Journalism

Starnes Publishing, the publishing company for Village Living, took home 42 awards in total among its five newspapers.
