Wish granted in Overton Park

A special wish was granted today in Overton Park.

Mary Claire Hunter and Meredith Alvarez surprised 15-year-old Alyssa with an announcement that she and her family would be taking a trip to Disney World through Magic Moments. Hunter and Alvarez, dressed in princess dresses, presented Alyssa with Disney-themed gifts and a princess cake as a part of the celebration.

Alyssa, who lives in Oxford, Ala., suffers from a rare disorder known as hypomelanosis of Ito.

Hunter and Alvarez, students at the University of Alabama and Auburn University, respectively, are interning for Magic Moments this summer.

It is the only wish granting organization devoted exclusively to fulfilling the dreams of children in Alabama with chronically life threatening medical conditions. To learn more, visit magicmoments.org.
