Woman robbed at gunpoint at Whole Foods, police report

Mountain Brook police are seeking information on a suspect who was reportedly involved in a robbery Monday afternoon.

Police report a woman was robbed at gunpoint at the Whole Foods on U.S. 280 around 3 p.m., according to a Facebook post on the police department’s page. The woman was putting groceries in her car when a black male with a goatee reportedly parked his car behind hers, got out, pointed a small handgun at her and took her purse.

The suspect then left the scene in his car, which was described as a red or maroon Ford Edge or a similar type of vehicle, according to police. No one was injured during the incident.
