Birmingham Zoo to celebrate 'World Giraffe Day' June 21

The Birmingham Zoo is inviting the public to visit this Tuesday, June 21, to help celebrate World Giraffe Day. From 9 a.m.-5 p.m., the zoo will commemorate the tallest land mammal and raise awareness for giraffe conservation in the field.

Guests are invited to enjoy giraffe themed games, keeper chats and giraffe feedings (for an additional cost) from 9:30-11:30 a.m. and from 1-3 p.m. Giraffe feedings are $3 plus tax. Activities include giraffe coloring, giraffe finger painting, Whose Spots are Those? game and giraffe mask making.

All proceeds from the World Giraffe Day feedings, along with a matching amount from the Birmingham Zoo, will be donated to the Giraffe Conservation Foundation.
