BWF celebrates Veterans Day

by

Brookwood Forest Elementary held its annual Veterans Day performance for friends, family and veterans on Nov. 5.

Students in fourth, fifth and sixth grades honored those in attendance by singing and paying tribute to the branches of our military under the direction of music teacher Debbie Rakes.

BWF hosted special guests including Superintendent Dicky Barlow, Alabama Rep. Jim Carnes, Chief of Police Ted Cook, Fire Chief Robert Ezekiel, City Manager Sam Gaston, Mountain Brook City Council members Alice Womack and Lloyd Shelton, Board of Education members Brad Sklar and Tom Luckie, and Director of the Mountain Brook City Schools Foundation Anne Womack.

This program gives teachers an opportunity to teach the students about democracy and to honor those Americans who have supported our country through their military service and sacrifice.
