CBS hosts annual Writers’ Festival

Cherokee Bend Elementary hosted several authors during the annual Mountain Brook Writers’ Festival in February. Volunteers from Mountain Brook Elementary, Brookwood Forest and Cherokee Bend Elementary spent countless hours planning this year’s event to celebrate the love of reading and inspiration for writing. Authors featured at this year’s Writers’ Festival were Bruce Hale, Candace Fleming and Helen Lester. 

During the three-day visit, the authors shared their writing and revision process, as well as personal stories. Students had daily opportunities to meet and interact with the writers, and many enjoyed a personal approach from each author, as they were given the chance to purchase the books and have them autographed by the author.
