Cherokee Bend student wins district Spelling Bee

After winning the school-wide spelling bee at Cherokee Bend Elementary, fifth grader Zachary Shunnarah represented the school in the Mountain Brook District Spelling Bee, where he competed against students from five other public and private schools in the city.  He went on to win that competition also, so Zachary will represent the City of Mountain Brook in the Jefferson County Spelling Bee. This is Zachary’s second year to win the school-wide bee and his first year to win the district bee.   Zachary is the son of Debby and George Shunnarah.
