Crestline principal wins leadership award

Laurie King, principal at Crestline Elementary School, recently won the CLAS Leadership Award at an convention in Montgomery. 

The mission of CLAS, the Council for Leaders in Alabama Schools, is to coordinate and facilitate resources of its members for the advancement of public education. King was chosen by her peers in the Alabama Association of Elementary School Principals as their nominee for this award. 

Following the nomination, a committee chose the award based on leadership at the local, district and state level. King has held a number of valuable leadership roles within the CLAS/AAESA organizations. Throughout her tenure as an administrator at Crestline, she has worked to improve the image of public education with state, local and national audiences.
