MBHS Relay for Life event to feature silent auction

by

Mountain Brook High School will host its annual Relay for Life event, Friday, April 8, beginning at 4 p.m. This year, students are aiming to raise $200,000 for the American Cancer Society.

Ellie Gorman, a junior at MBHS and a student director for the event, said the event will continue through midnight. A silent art auction will be part of the festivities this year and will be held in the high school lunchroom. Art pieces up for sale have all been submitted by MBHS artists in 10th through 12th grades.

“These are some of the best artists at the high school, many of whom also have their own businesses outside of school,” said Gorman.

Bidding will take place from 7-8 p.m. Friday night.

Along with the Relay walk, other activities, including a free dinner for survivors, the Survivors’ Lap and the Luminaria Ceremony, will all take place.
