Spartan girls' golf breezes through sectionals

The Mountain Brook girls' golf team had a dominating performance in the sectional tournament at Anniston Sunday. The Spartans' 230 team score was 35 strokes lower than Hoover, who finished in second place.

Individually, Tatum Jackson led Mountain Brook with a two-below-par 70; Lane Proctor and Carolyn McCulley each added a score of 80. 

The Spartans will continue their quest for their third-straight Class 6A state championship Monday, May 6 at the substate tournament in Oxford.
