Spartanettes win state championship

The Mountain Brook Junior High School Spartanettes won the high kick division of the UDA Alabama Dance Championships in January at Spain Park High School. 

Defending their state title for the third year, the Spartanettes had the highest score in their division despite obstacles. Two of the teammates were injured just before the competition, and their music accidentally was accelerated during their performance. The Spartanettes never faltered and kicked their way to another state title.
