Graham earns Eagle Scout rank

Andrew Julian (Drew) Graham, a member of Boy Scout Troop 86 at St. Luke’s Episcopal Church, has earned the rank of Eagle Scout. Drew’s uncle and fellow Eagle Scout, Julian Hawes, Jr. of Dallas, participated in the pinning ceremony.

His Eagle service project involved installing a 21-foot section of brick pavers along the pathway to the Alabama Veterans Memorial at Liberty Park. The service project entailed over 130 man hours to plan and execute and involved more than 20 volunteers. He also donated more than $800 to the maintenance fund for the Veterans Memorial.

Drew is a freshman at Mountain Brook Junior High School and is the son of Paul and Evelyn Graham of Mountain Brook and the grandson of Patricia Hawes- Hipps of Chelsea, and the late Barry Mellin Hawes and John and Mary Helen Graham of Atmore.
