The 2015-2016 Mountain Brook Junior High seventh-grade girl's basketball team finished the season undefeated and went on to become Champions of the Metro South Tournament with an overall record of 19-0.

The team started the tournament with an aggressive style of play, winning their first-round game against Bumpus with a score of 45-12. The Lady Spartans advanced to the semi-final game against Oak Mountain and won 35-9, which sent them to the Metro South Championship game. Mountain Brook played Liberty Park in the finals of the tournament in front of an electrifying crowd. Both teams played with a high-level of intensity from tip off to the very end.

However, it was the aggressive defense and the balanced scoring attack from multiple players for the Spartans that led them to the victory with a score of 55-20.

It was a hard-fought game by both teams and one of the best overall games for the Spartans all season. Each of these young ladies worked extremely hard throughout the season and finished strong together, as each player made significant contributions to the success of the Mountain Brook Junior High seventh-grade girls basketball team.

Not only did this group grow and improve on the basketball court, but they also continued to develop and mature in their personal character. This was a very enthusiastic group that also used their talents and energy to assist others in the community and the surrounding areas throughout the course of the season. It was truly a fun and exciting journey that the team should be proud of as they reflect on the many memories made as a seventh-grade Lady Spartan.
