Spartan Day introduces new students to junior high

Incoming Mountain Brook Junior High School seventh graders will experience a mock school day on Aug. 12.

From 8:40 a.m. until 2:50 p.m.  the students will walk their schedule, meet their teachers, meet new friends and learn the Spartan way as a part of MBJH Spartan Way. Ninth-grade student WEB leaders perform 20 hours of training to prepare to guide the incoming seventh graders during the event.

The success of Spartan Day is largely due to the efforts and wonderful support of the PTO.  This year's committee members are Donna Savage and Laurie Wilbanks.  They will provide T-shirts and pizza for each student that attends.

Teachers Pearle Smith, Adam Johnson, Drew Jackson, Anna McCain, Laura Centeno, Catherine Swindle and Andrew Cotton helped with the event, and the entire MBJH staff helps support the event by being available for the mock schedule and volunteering to help where needed.
