MBE’s Lancer Glow Run a huge success

Mountain Brook Elementary held its ninth annual Boosterthon Fundraiser on September 14, with students running in the first ever Lancer Glow Run inside the gymnasium. Students and families elevated the fun with glow jewelry, LED mohawks, neon face paint and socks in this cool, black-lit, indoor fun run. In the days leading up to the event, students decorated classroom doors and participated in fun daily activities surrounding the “Backyard Box Office” theme. Boosterthon Chair Richelle Simmons stated, “The MBE students, staff and families kept the excitement going all week, which helped us exceed our $50,000 goal!” As a reward, top fundraising students participated in a Bubble Soccer match against Principal McCombs and Vice Principal Aaron. The funds raised at Boosterthon will be used to enhance MBE’s STEAM room, as well as to convert existing water fountains to dual water bottle filling stations.
