Another win, another milestone reached for the Mountain Brook basketball program. The Spartans took to the road and knocked off Class 7A Thompson, 76-58, on Monday night.

Jack Kline, shortly after reaching 700 career rebounds, now has the all-time wins record at Mountain Brook. With the Spartans' victory, Kline now has 112 wins in his varsity career, surpassing the total of Patrick Keim, who now plays at Auburn.

The UAH commit put forth a good effort in the game as well, scoring eight points and ripping down 13 rebounds.

Mountain Brook took its first lead on a pair of free throws from Ben Nelson 50 seconds before halftime, and never trailed again.

Freshman phenom Trendon Watford reeled in a double-double, with team highs of 18 points and 14 rebounds. He gave the Spartans a lift in the third quarter with three consecutive layups in a 90-second span.

Sean Elmore knocked down 3-of-5 attempts from three-point range and scored 15 points for the Spartans, along with four assists. Clay Collins hit all five of his shots to score 11 points. Ben McCool added seven, and Drew Smith pitched in solid defense with four steals.

Mountain Brook is set to host Winfield on Friday night at 7:30 p.m., as the program will honor its five seniors.
