Lady Spartans take on Hoover in state championship

It’s an all-metro final to determine the state volleyball champion to day at noon.

Mountain Brook knocked off Bob Jones for the second time in a week in the semifinals of the Class 7A Elite Eight volleyball tournament at the CrossPlex in Birmingham. The Lady Spartans outlasted the Patriots, who had been ranked No. 1 for most of the season, 25-22, 22-25, 25-23, 25-22.

Hoover defeated McGill-Toolen 25-15, 25-20, 27-29 and 25-18.
