MBHS runners receive distance trophy

Mountain Brook High School’s most outstanding long distance track athletes have won the Colonel George V. Irons Distance Trophy presented at the school’s Awards Day in April.

William L. Irons, Dr. Irons’ son, presented this year’s trophies to Rachael Reddy and Stewart Hawk.

The trophy is given in honor of Dr. George V. Irons Sr., who broke distance records throughout the South as captain of the University of Alabama distance team in the 1920s.
