MBHS senior signs with UTSA

Eric Buchalter, son of Robert and Helena Buchalter,  recently signed with the University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA Roadrunners) to play collegiate tennis for the academic year 2012-2013.

The UTSA tennis team qualified this season to play in the prestigious NCAA tournament taking place across the nation.

Eric currently is a senior at Mountain Brook High School where he played varsity tennis during the seasons of 2010-2012.  In 2010, Mountain Brook won the Alabama State Championship; the team was-up in 2011 and 2012.

During these school years, Eric’s record was an impressive 47 wins and 7 losses, overall.

As a ninth grader in 2009-2010, Eric attended Saddlebrook Tennis Academy and Preparatory School near Tampa, Fla., where John Isner, Mardy Fish, James Blake and the Brian brothers routinely train.

In addition, during Eric’s USTA junior career he reached as high as number one ranking in the state of Alabama in the 18 and under singles division.

Eric is looking forward to continuing his education in the field of business andbeing a part of the University of Texas at San Antonio tennis team, under Coach Jeffrey Kader.
