MBJH volleyball team finishes season undefeated

Mountain Brook Junior High’s eighth grade girls volleyball team finished its season by winning the Metro Championship on Oct. 2 and Oct. 3.

The team was undefeated going into the tournament and beat Berry, Simmons and Thompson, finishing with an 11-0 Metro record and 27-0 overall record. In the past eight years, MBJH has placed first in the tournament six times and second twice.

Throughout the season, the team also had first place finishes in the Panther Smash Tournament in Huntsville and the Warrior Strong Tournament at Thompson.

Players Liz Vandevelde and Grace Carr were selected for the All-Tournament team, and the Metro tournament MVP was Ann Vandevelde.
