Mountain Brook Athletics fall registration continues through weekend

Mountain Brook Athletics fall registration will run Fridays, Aug. 16 and 23 from 4:30-6 p.m. and Saturdays, Aug. 17 and 24 from 9 a.m.-noon at Mountain Brook Junior High School.

FOOTBALL – Boys grades 2–6. All tackle players must appear at registration for weigh-in. There will be five leagues, second-flag, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth grade tackle. There will be a clinic/jamboree for all players registered in grades 3-6. More information on the clinic will be available at registration. Team selections for grades 3-6 will occur at the end of the clinic. Players will be notified about their team assignments by their coach. Flag football will begin in early September. Flag foobtall and third – sixth grade leagues will run through the end of October or first week of November. Fee is $140. Second grade flag fee is $95.

FALL BASEBALL – Boys grades 1-6. Practices and/or games will be held twice a week. Games will be played primarily on Sunday afternoons. Practices are usually on Tuesday or Thursday. Grades 1-2 will be machine pitch, and grades 3-4 & 5-6 will be player pitch. Fee is $120.

VOLLEYBALL – Girls grades 5&6. Practices and games will normally be held one to two times each week at MBHS. The season will begin in early September. The season typically runs through the third week in October. Fee is $110.

TEAM TENNIS – Boys & girls grades 4-6. Season starts the first of Sept. and will run until mid-late Oct. Schedule will consist on average of one practice and one match each week. Fee is $90.

FALL SOFTBALL – Girls grades 1-7. Practices andgames will be mostly held on Sundays & Mondays with some other possible weekday events. Games may be played with other communities. Grades 1-3 (8U) will play coach pitch, while grades 3-5 (10U) & 5-7 (12U) will be player pitch. Fee is $100.

CHEERLEADING – Girls grades 3-6. Fee is $80. If a uniform is needed, it can be purchased separately at Mountain Brook Sporting Goods.

Effective September 1, 1994, programs sponsored by MBA will be offered only to Mountain Brook residents whose children are eligible to attend Mountain Brook schools.
