Mountain Brook boys, girls in region semifinals Thursday

Mountain Brook's boys basketball team, shooting for its third straight state championship, and the MBHS girls team compete in the Class 7A Northeast Regional semifinals in Jacksonville on Thursday, Feb. 12.

The boys take on Huntsville High at 10:30 a.m. while the girls also face Huntsville in the noon game at Jacksonville State University's Pete Mathews Coliseum.

The Spartans (24-7), if they win, would face the winner of Vestavia Hills-Gadsden City on Tuesday, Feb. 17, at Jax State.

The Lady Spartans (19-10), should they get past Huntsville (30-3), would face the Spain Park-Gadsden City winner on Tuesday, Feb. 17, at Jax State.
