Mountain Brook takes care of Vestavia Hills

Trendon Watford scored over half of his team's points, as Mountain Brook knocked off visiting Vestavia Hills, 65-51, on Friday night, in a Class 7A, Area 6 matchup at Spartan Arena.

Watford scored 32 points on 14-of-24 shooting and grabbed 11 rebounds, to give him a double-double. He also picked up three steals.

Jack Kline was the only other Spartan in double figures, as he scored 11.

Ben McCool scored eight and Clay Collins dished out four assists.

With the win, Mountain Brook improves to 15-5 overall, 3-1 in the area. They face top-ranked Spain Park on Tuesday night at home. Tip off is slated for 7:30 p.m.

The Lady Spartans also notched a victory, beating Vestavia 72-24. Janie Branch scored 21 to lead the team. Walker Poe added 14 and Sara Carr scored ten.
