Spartans to play in state championship

The MBHS Varsity Basketball team defeated Carver-Montgomery 49-38 on Wednesday to earn its way to the 6A state championship game. The team (33-3) takes on Blount (27-3) Friday at 7 p.m. at the BJCC.

The score was 24-21 Mountain Brook at half time, and the Spartans edged ahead by an additional 8 points by the end of the second half.
