The Birmingham Zoo will celebrate Alabama’s farming heritage with Farm Day on Saturday, April 11. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

This celebration, held in the Junior League of Birmingham – Hugh Kaul Children’s Zoo, will offer an opportunity to see a sheep shearing, participate in an agriculture themed trivia game, observe a hoof trimming demonstration and more.

Booths from Alabama  4-H,  Alabama Farmers Federation/Alabama Young Farmers, local farmers and local agricultural groups will be onsite to allow guests to learn about farm tools, agriculture and local farming opportunities. There will also be an up-close experience with educational animals at the Schaeffer Eye Center Wildlife Show stage at 3 p.m.

All Farm Day activities are free with paid admission to the Zoo.
