Half price admission with food donation at the Zoo
The Birmingham Zoo is inviting the community to give back to those in need this season. All visitors can enjoy half price admission Saturday, Nov. 17 and Sunday, Nov. 18 by bringing a non-perishable item to the Zoo to support the canned food drive.
This particular weekend, guests who donate a food item will pay $7 (plus tax) for adults, $4.50 (plus tax) for senior citizens 65 years and older, and $4.50 (plus tax) for children ages 2 – 12. Children under 2 years old are free.
The Zoo requests that guests bring one item per person to receive the discount.
“This is just one of the many ways that the Zoo can help give back to the community that has supported the Zoo for so many years,” said Dr. William Foster, Birmingham Zoo President and CEO.
“We are grateful that the Birmingham Zoo has chosen the United Way Community Food Bank as a way to give back to this community,” said Larry Logan, Executive Director of the United Way Community Food Bank. “They couldn’t have chosen a better time to collect donations. This time of year is our most challenging, and we rely on the support of our community friends such as the Zoo.”
