Patriot Day Ceremony MBHS choir
Residents of Mountain Brook, Homewood and Vestavia Hills joined with emergency service personnel and city administrations to dedicate the World Trade Center Memorial at the Mountain Brook City Complex on Sept. 11, 2013.
Mountain Brook High School students have been entertaining audiences with song and dance for years, long before television programs made show choir a national story.
Of course, seeing it and hearing it live is always better.
Directed by John Kincaid and choreographed by Todd Underwood, the Show Choir has long enjoyed competitive success, while maintaining tremendous popularity in the community over the years.
Almost 250 students will present this year's fall show, "21st Century Brookie," a revue of popular music from 2000-2013. The performance will include hits such as "Single Ladies,” "Can’t Hold Us," "Set Fire to the Rain" and "Suit and Tie”.
The show is packed with exciting dance numbers, popular ballads and tight harmonies.
Performances will be held Oct. 15, 16 and 17 at 7 p.m. (doors open at 6:45 p.m.), and Oct. 19 at 2 p.m. (doors open at 1:45 p.m.) in the Performing Arts Center at Mountain Brook High School, 3650 Bethune Drive. Advance tickets for the event are $12 and may be purchased by contacting Kristy Parrott or Sara Kinney at mbhschoirtickets@yahoo.com or from current choir members. If there are any available on the performance dates, they will be sold at the door as well.
