The Mountain Brook Spartans dropped a tough opener on the road at Huntsville 22-21 when the Crimson Panthers booted a 22-yard field goal with 3 seconds left.
It gets no easier for coach Chris Yeager’s team as it opens Class 7A, Region 3 play at second-ranked Hoover (0-2). The Spartans won the last meeting between these teams, but the winless Bucs have their backs against the wall. Kickoff for the Friday night game is 7.
